To Amend the General Assembly Rules of Procedure on Amendment Periods Introduced into The General Assembly of the Union on the 23rd of April by Firseria .
As follows:
The General Assembly of the Union of Democratic States, OBSERVING that the Rules of Procedure currently call for separate amendment proposal and amendment debate periods; BELIEVING that there is no reason debate and proposal of amendments could not occur at the same time without confusion; RECOGNIZING that, therefore, it would be more efficient to combine these periods into one; HEREBY AMENDS AR-001 General Assembly Rules of Procedure.
Section 8, Clauses 5-6 shall be struck out and replaced with the following: 4. Upon conclusion of the debate period, the Chairperson shall open an amendment period, during which any Assembly Member may propose amendments or debate amendments have been proposed. This period shall last 72 hours unless extended or shortened in accordance with the provisions for such in Section 3.
2. All subsequent clauses in Section 8 shall be renumbered appropriately.
“second debate” in Section 8, Clause 7 (now clause 6) shall be replaced with “amendment”.
Section 9, Clauses 5-6 shall be struck out and replaced with the following: 4.
