Legislative Archive Act

BELIEVING it necessary that all legislative actions be recorded and archived,
ACKNOWLEDGING the inconsistencies of previous governments and administrations to properly archive the law
UNDERSTANDING that measures to archive and record laws should be established
HEREBY ENACTS THE FOLLOWING AS LAW:
Section I: General Provisions
I. The administration team, with help from the President, shall be tasked with the upkeep and maintenance of a Law Library which shall include all current active laws in their most current state and all motions passed by the legislature.
Section II: Provisions regarding the law dispatch
I. Upon the passage of any law, motion, resolution or such similar action by the legislature (or a chamber of the legislature), the President shall write the code for a dispatch in NationStates archiving and recording the relevant action and present it to the admins for posting.
A. The Dispatch must be fully coded and formatted before submission to an administrator.
B. The President may delegate this task to their Vice President, or to any other person they believe can accomplish this task.
C. In the absence of the President, their Vice President, or such a person who is recognized to be acting as the President shall execute this action.
D. Upon a law, motion or resolution being repealed or amended, the President is tasked with informing the Administration Team that an update is required.
Section III: Provisions regarding the legislative library
I. The Legislative Library shall be located on the forum.
II. Upon the passage of a law, resolution, or such similar motion by the legislature, the President shall add said law to the legislative library;
III. The President may delegate this task to a person, or a group of individuals that they believe can accomplish this task.
IV. Upon a law, motion or resolution being repealed or amended, the President is tasked with providing an appropriate update to the specific former law document(s).
Section IV: Standardization of Laws
I. All laws passed by both houses of the legislature shall be conferred a serial number that shall begin with UL-### (Union Law)
II. Any resolutions passed solely by the Senate shall be numbered SR-### (Senate Resolution)
III. Any resolutions passed solely by the General Assembly shall be numbered AR-### (Assembly Resolution)
