VOTE FOR NORTH PLEGIA
As Unionists, we have our differences. But we all want the UDS to succeed; that is why we must vote for North Plegia.
During the past premiership, we've had to adjust to a complex and convoluted constitution. In order for us as a region to persevere over this burden, and institute a new constitution, we need a strong leader to unite us all. I am that leader.
My policies as Prime Minister will be:
1. Our last Cabinet has largely neglected the duties of some of our ministries. This is not the fault of ministers but rather a lack of interaction and instruction from the Prime Minister. This will change under North Plegia's leadership.
2. UDSAF decision-making will be designated to high-ranking professionals in the military speciality. These include WTP, Khevo, Kade.
3. Host an unofficial Constitutional Contest, so we can get a taste of the new ideas that the UDS holds. This seems to be a popular avenue towards a new constitution, and by opening debating events before an official ConCon is implemented, it won't be so much of a jump in the dark.
4. Work with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in creating a guide for monthly embassy reports. As an ambassador, I have been baffled as to what exactly we should include in embassy reports. Clear criteria will be provided under my tenure; I will discuss this with the Foreign Affairs minister. This is how interregional alliances will be strengthened, new embassies will be formed, and our presence on the interregional stage will increase.
5. Improve recruitment strategies and advertising stamp donations. I will be talking with the Ministry of the Census about this, and the result of that conversation could be the creation of a Ministry of Recruitment. However, this is useless without Point #6...
6. Make the UDS fun. Make things like 'Thatch's funhouse' a weekly/monthly occurrence. I've seen tactics like this be implemented in regions such as the LCN, which has only ~90 nations, but lots of activity.
7. Work with the Ministry of Education at record-keeping, both in the UDS forum and in-game dispatches, so that all of our citizens can access them. For legislators in the Senate and the Assembly, I know how hard it can be looking for the relevant law -- I will make your job one hell of a lot easier if you vote for me.
8. For all ministries, I will be reviewing weekly progress every Saturday or Sunday to check the ground that is being covered by our Cabinet. I will not hesitate at sacking people if a good-enough effort isn't being put into the job. That isn't what the region deserves.
My policies as Delegate will be:
Exactly the same.
In my term as Delegate, I have revived the WAIP, have kept the WAEP up-and-running, and have boosted UDS-WA influence. We've witnessed a net aggregate endorsement increase of +400 in my tenure. My opponent says this is 'good work'.
I have listened to the people and voted accordingly on WA proposals, as I promised. I have asked WAIP members what they think of certain resolutions. This promise will be even more successful through the forums; there is a poll feature that I can use to better see the WAIP consensus. I will be using this.
As I would say, it's a no-brainer.

How do you view the role of WAIP members specifically as compared to the best interests of the region as a whole when it comes to decision making as delegate?
Why have you chosen to run for both positions at a time?
In what key ways do you difference yourself from your opponents?
How do you view the role of political parties in the UDS?
In what ways are the major political parties different?
Do you consider your parties interests to align with those of the union, or may the at some times be in conflict?
If your party pushed for a policy detrimental to the union in favor to the party, how would you react.
How do you view the roles of the various administrations and departments you would be presiding over? (please be specific)
How do you view the role of the cabinent in your decision-making process?
In what way would the apparent lack of qualified/motivated/involved candidates affect your willingness to fire people?
What do you believe the role of the legislature is in the way you conduct your administration?

Reply to Kade: 1. Can you cite examples or ideas that you have to prevent this lack of communication? For instance, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, which has seen a lack of coordination from the PM as to how our interregional presence should be enhanced (such as the absence of an embassy report criteria). 2. Kindly remove me from that list. I understand that I am involved in the R/D game, but I do not have the time to commit to running the UDSAF any more. Sorry OK. 3. Source on those statistics? You have 51 right now I do have 51 endorsements. I'm talking about the total number of regional endorsements (as what aggregate means). This can be estimated by multiplying the number of nations in the UDS by the average endorsement level; a positive trend of roughly +400 has been calculated. 4. How can you diff non waip from waip members? I have set up a WAIP application form for those who are interested in membership; they're all recorded on there, and they receive a WAIP Discord tag which I ping.

Reply to Glaciosia:
1.How do you view the role of WAIP members specifically as compared to the best interests of the region as a whole when it comes to decision making as delegate? The WAIP act as guidance, particularly with more obscure WA resolutions. I will not blatantly contravene the values or best interests of the region if I am 100% aware I would be doing so by listening to WAIP members.
2. Why have you chosen to run for both positions at a time? My term as Delegate has seen some great progress; my management over the WAEP and WAIP has been competent. I want that to continue for another term, whoever the Delegate is by 2019, but I believe I am the safest vote option if that is what you want. As for the Prime Ministry, I think we need a resolute leader to get us through potentially constitutional reform times. I believe I am that leader.
3. In what key ways do you differentiate yourself from your opponents? I will actually keep to my word and implement the changes I promise to make. I did so when running for Delegate back in June. However, Asdersland has managed the Ministry of Education since its inception in June 2017, and has pledged again and again that the next term will be different; yet we all know the Ministry of Education to be the most sloth department in the Cabinet, and Asdersland has been under fire with this multiple times (barely escaping by the skin of his teeth each time).
4. How do you view the role of political parties in the UDS? They keep debates alive and fiery, and also consolidate unity in government. However, I feel their role in doing this has diminished greatly as of late.
5. In what ways are the major political parties different? I would say the FCU has its suspicions over the admin team; we don't agree with the handling of certain cases, for instance, Sabotur, Relfa. As Chairman, I have spoken out against these cases from the start, as I believe the admin team has stepped out of its OOC jursidiction before. Whether it was "that one time", or "only twice", that's two times too many. Except that, there are no major differences.
6. Do you consider your parties interests to align with those of the union, or may the at some times be in conflict? I'm not going to pretend that the UDS is completely unified with its interests. I can't claim any political organisation "holds the consensus" of the region. I can only say that we are pleasing a prominent group of Unionists; that group will expand if we enter the Executive.
7. If your party pushed for a policy detrimental to the union in favour of the party, how would you react? I would react quite negatively to the party members that allowed such a policy to pass to our manifesto. If the party persists in support of such a policy, I would consider resigning as Chairman and possibly leave the party. Thankfully, that has never happened before.
8. How do you view the roles of the various administrations and departments you would be presiding over? (please be specific) The Ministry of the Census provides smooth entry of new nations to citizenship. It's an important aspect of governance to assure that we aren't deterring any newcomers from getting involved in the UDS. The Ministry of Education provides easy-access to up-to-date law and other legislative documents, which will be helpful for our legislators. It will also include news outlets, executive orders, legislative rules of procedure, to satiate the appetite of some of our more historically-curious Unionists. The Ministry of RolePlay is an aspect of entertainment, which I have mentioned is a primary factor in sustaining regional activity. A lot of people love RolePlay and consider it the best part of NS. So I think it's essential that we keep our RP server in its due course. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs buttresses interregional relations and propels the UDS onto the interregional stage. I think the ministry also provides an opportunity for newcomers to experience and get a sense of the duties of NS involvement.
9. How do you view the role of the cabinet in your decision-making process? When it comes to decision-making, especially with regards to their ministry, I will take the advice of any cabinet member who wishes to provide it.
10. In what way would the apparent lack of qualified/motivated/involved candidates affect your willingness to fire people? I would always take workable flaws into consideration, particularly if I think that the person has a lot of potential as a Cabinet member. However, if it's due to RL issues or lack of motivation, for their good and for the good of regional governance I will lean to firing them.
11. What do you believe the role of the legislature is in the way you conduct your administration? I think the legislature is there to remind me that what I think isn't what all Unionists think; it also restricts the power of someone who will flat-out ignore the regional consensus as a tyrant would. The legislature, and also the judiciary and the Cabinet members in the executive, all comprise the checks-and-balances against the premier.

1. I count seven members currently tagged in the discord as WAIP. How much growth has there been in there since your takeover as del? Considerable growth; both in terms of aggregate endorsement count, average endorsement count, keeping the WAEP up and running, and also kickstarting the WAIP from ground zero. Since the last positive happened midway through my term, the programme is still in working progress and advertisement is necessary. I've spoken about this recently with Prime Minister Khevo, and he considered promoting WAIP membership application, as well as endotarting, in a regional telegram. This hasn't been implemented by the prime minister, but it will under my tenure. Membership will rise.

Reply to Phoenix:
1. I think the Ministry's also need to be detailed in their policies that would benefit the public by bringing them to the public's attention. We'll hold weekly Cabinet briefings on Saturdays or Sundays. I will inquire about the policies that are being implemented by each minister across the weekend to assure that all departmental decisions and announcements are top-quality. As for bringing them to the public eye, frequent Discord announcements and weekly telegrams are the answer.
